Does the PPA has a Grievance Committee?
Good Day!!!! To all doctors and members, I am aileen again.I hope the PPA has a grievance committee for patients who suffered the wrong findings and prolonged medication without any confirmation of the real sickness. As what I have said before my psychiatric case started from suicidal tendency, I wonder why is it that there are findings that i have psychizophrenia and i am a bipolar. I am really confused and due to prolonged medications since i was 16 until now I am confused and unfortunately have been experiencing hemophilia.Lately I have experienced excessive bleeding in the gums and the dentist said i should take a blood chemistry for he can't find any dentally related sickness in me. When I mentioned that I have been taking medicines issued by psychiatrist he said that's hemophilia.Yes, I went to the laboratory and I got abnormal blood chemistry. When the dentist learned about the result of the blood chemistry he said it is because of the sideffect of the medicines I am taking. My protime is low out of range. Another thing is I am fooled by psychiatrist who treated me basing only on hearing the side of my mother who is the cause of my depression.I have been to makati med. and medical city and worst without referral by Dr. *** my mother transferred me to NCMH.
Doctors help me. Most of the time Dr * doesn't give go signal to my mother to confine me my case is illegal detention and unbalance clinical abstract meaning findings aer only based on the fabricated stories of my mom. And worst is my experience at NCMH.In my entire life being an adult having been confined in basement i never has scabies and lies or "kuto". When my mother detain me illegally at NCMH, her reason is wala na daw syang pera but our company is still existing she should sent me to PGH or OSPital ng Maynila. Doctors, is there a way if me myself would withdraw my record at NCMH, if I can justify that their findings are inbalance basing only on the fabricated stories of my mom?I had series of confinements before and even if im 5 yrs. aways from NCMH when my mom and I have a debate meaning when we have conflict I always get illegally detained at NCMH. Ako pa po ang kinoconfine, she's the one ruining my name and reputation. I can never accept that doc, I grew up in exclusive school and been hired by big companies including Rajah Broadcasting Company!!!help

Re: Does the PPA has a Grievance Committee?
safety concerns for the patient's or another person's (like if someone is suicidal or homicidal) is one criteria for an involuntarily admission (without the patient's consent). another is psychosis, when someone has impaired reality testing and is not able to take care of him-herself and/or make rational decisions because of he/she is paranoid, delusional, or hallucinating. In involuntary admissions, a family member usually petitions for the admission. However, the psychiatrist must have examined the patient before admitting him/her and has found strong grounds for this.
psychiatrists, like any physician, should examine the patient first. They must speak to the patient to obtain the history of the problem/illness (or try to - some may not make sense, selectively mute, have altered mental status, etc). physicians do a physical examination (using their hands, stethoscope, sphygmomanometer, penlight, etc), while psychiatrists do a MENTAL STATUS EXAMINATION (by observation, asking questions, listening carefully to the patient's answers. This is how they know what the probable diagnosis(es) is/are - whether they're anxious, depressed, manic, psychotic, intoxicated, delirious, delusional, suicidal or homicidal).
You (or another family member) should advocate for yourself against hospitalization/treatment if this is deemed not necessary, especially that you are now an adult. You are supposed to make decisions for your care/treatment (unless your mother has legal guardianship). It seems that you have a conflictual relationship with her. You also mentioned that she lied. You should let your psychiatrist and/or therapist know about this so that they can look into this (by obtaining information from other sources - family members, friends, employer, etc. With your consent, of course).
